Images for SEO in your Blog Posts
Veering away from Clickbank to give a quick tip on Images, and more importantly using Images in your blog posts.
As you know I have started arbitrarytweets.com and am getting good organic search traffic. Funnily enough, to mostly only one page. Hilariously that page is about Rick Astley. (I have taken a risk here and cross linked from one of my web sites to another – Google will sometimes frown upon this. They know what sites I own).
Anyway, what I am saying, is that in my post about Rick Astley, I used an image of him, naming it Rick Asltey (important to name or rename the images you use, using your keywords for that post and to give them an alternative “alt” descritption).
So, to cut a long story short, the image I used, as well as the concurrent link to arbitrarytweets.com shows up on the first page of Google when anyone searches for “Rick Astley”. It’s enough to get lot’s of traffic. Go to Google and search for Rick and see what I mean. Here is a screen shot (note another image).
I am learning lots and have other stories about Pinterest, a backlink from The Huffington Post (PR8) and a few more.
However, for tonight, it is about the importance of using images in your blog posts, and naming them correctly.
