Starvation, Food Wastage and Thailand

Year 2011 – Galaxy: The Milky Way. System: The Solar System. Planet: Earth.

In Somalia there are 500,000 Human Beings facing death due to starvation right now…

A maximum of 200,000 people died as a result of the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

In America, it has been calculated that $100 Billion dollars worth of food gets wasted every year. (This is not a dig at America, only a quick reference that I was able to “Google”.) I don’t even want to add a figure onto this for the rest of the world.

Let’s put this into context:

1. The total population of Somalia is roughly 10,200,000.
2. A Big Mac in the States costs approximately $3.80.
3. US$100 Billion will buy you 26,3 Billion Big Macs.

This is enough, to supply everyone in Somalia with a Big Mac, every single day, for 7 years!

In Somalia 500,000 Human Beings face death due to starvation right now….

Draw whatever conclusions you want to….

All I can say is that we are lucky-fucking-fish.

Here is an interesting site on the matter Wastedfood.com

Here is an interesting article .

Not to disrespect any of the above and to lighten the mood a little:

A friend of mine Dale, the same friend from Cooking, Snoring and Self Defense fame, asked me to include this:

UNCOVERING THE SECRETS OF THAI BAR GIRLS

And while we are about it, I might as well include:

How to Drive Traffic to your Blog cont’d

I am in the process of trying to increase the traffic to my blog. It is frustrating as a beginner to learn that nobody is actually reading what you write.

I have read quite a bit on the Internet and as per my previous blog post, I have already created a Twitter Account and a Facebook Page

The other interesting thing I have read and now have tried, is a press release. There is an interesting article at squidoo.com on this subject.

So I wrote this press release:

““The Great ClickBank Caper” is a Blog that follows a “social-internet-money-making-experiment” to shamelessly try and raise $100,000 through the Internet.

There is much talk and hype on the Internet about making money in various and numerous ways. Affiliate marketing via Clickbank, even Amazon. Adsense with Google. Monetizing of Blogs. The list goes on and on and on.

Clickbankcaper.com will follow the attempt, of its inexperienced Creator, to try to unravel the mysteries, jargon, methodologies and the seeming impossibilities of making money on the Internet. The Blog will openly and honestly attempt to test the sometimes-outrageous claims of “money making”.

This is intended to be a personal journey, which strives for “social-internet-interaction”. It aims to be a learning experience communicated with humour. A social-commentary loaded with fun.

Above all else, it aims to shamelessly raise $100,000.”

There are a couple of Internet Press Release sites that allow you to issue a press release for free:

1. prlog.org
2. sanepr.com

So between Twitter, Facebook and the press release, I hope to increase the traffic to this blog. I will keep you informed as to how this particular experiment has panned out.

Shout if you are listening.

How to Drive Traffic to Your Blog.

So after setting up, getting online, posting a couple of blogs, it is heartbreaking to look at the meagre number of visitors that actually view this blog per day. I have to say that I am a little bit despondent.

The big question then, is how do I get more people to actually come to www.clickbankcaper.com and read and possibly purchase to help this experiment along?

I have done a bit of reading/research and it is clear that one of the ways to increase traffic is to use Facebook and Twitter.

So I have set up a Twitter Account: Here

and I have set up a Facebook page: Here

and wait to see if this helps.  It seems their are many complex ways and special tricks that you can use to make this all work for you.  However, because I am a novice and still learning, there is not much more in-depth information that I can give you. Once things become clearer to me, I hope to elaborate on this.

In the meantime there are plenty of sites/blogs that have excellent and more precise opinons on this.  Here are a couple of them (by the way I have read that it is also good to mention other blogs within your posts?):

Check out this article at famousbloggers.net

or this one at davidshawblog.com

I will delve deeper!

Oh, another thing I read was that it doesn’t hurt to submit your site to a blog directory.  Apparently Technorati is the “one”.  I have done this too.

I will monitor the traffic and report back.

Just as an interesting aside, it seems there are people out there who actually make a living from blogging.  That’s all they do.  It is hard for me to imagine that?!

If anyone out there, who knows what they are doing, reads this; your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Just for good measure, here is a ClickBank product on how to turn baking cupcakes into an empire!

First “ClickBank” Sale!

Exciting news! Made my first “ClickBank” sale. Check out the progress bar. We are up and running…

$4.10 out of the $100,000!

So, I need four more similar sales on ClickBank with four different credit cards to actually get paid out!

I have also found out that you can “market” Amazon Books. If you make a sale then you get 15% of that sale.

So, on holiday I read this amazing book:

So, If anyone out there wants to help this experiment along and are planning on buying a book from Amazon, let me know which one and I will supply you with our secret link.  email: caper@clickbankcaper.com

Simple as that.

Here is a screen grab of the first ever ClickBankCaper “clickbank-sale”. History in the making?
